So one of the most important assets
I believe in any business
is the staff
and the team that you have
you can't grow your business
unless you've got good people working for you
and something I'm very proud of -
our staff turnover has been very low
so in eight years we've had no resignations
if you look after people they will put the effort in
and it's not just about the money
it's about giving them a good work environment
and caring for them
and being conscious that your staff
are integral to your organisation
Being an accountant
I advise my clients on a lot of the HR, basic HR issues
but it is such a complex environment now
that again the cost value of having the security
of somebody like Employsure behind our practice
even though we're not a large business
just gave me an element of safety
gives me some security that the HR is under control
and it's one less thing I need to worry about
So my advice to people starting a business
would be to differentiate yourself
be different
create a niche market
and provide an offering that your competitors
don't provide
One of the challenges I see in a lot of businesses
is that people do not believe in themselves
they set a limitation
and if you set a limitation you will not grow
